secundară pentru industria de celuloză, hârtie și carton, datorită atât implicațiilor ecologice cât și a celor economice, cum ar fi: Conservarea pădurilor, deoarece o tonă de maculatură salvează circa 5 mc de masă lemnoasă necesară fabricării unei cantități echivalente de celuloză, precum și 30.000 litri de apă; Prelucrarea maculaturii se realizează cu consumuri energetice de 2-3 ori mai reduse decât în cazul folosirii fibrelor celulozice, iar poluarea atmosferică este cu 80% mai redusă; Copacii sunt plămânii planetei dar și una din pricipalele arme de luptă împotriva încălzirii globale. Astfel, un copac cu frunze, ajuns la maturitate, produce într-un sezon necesarul de oxigen inhalat de 10 oameni într-un an. Hârtia este colectată din diverse surse (populație, companii, industrie, lanțuri de magazine, instituții publice etc.) și este de mai multe feluri (maculatură, ambalaje, arhivă). Aceasta este sortată și grupată separat, respectiv balotată pe diferite tipuri, pentru a fi mai ușor de manevrat și transportat, urmând să fie transformată de către fabricile de hârtie în pastă de lemn. Materialele achiziționate din teritoriu sunt dirijate la un centru specializat situat în Zalău, intrând într-un proces de sortare și pregătire în funcție de destinația fiecărui sortiment, compoziție, nivel de puritate, dimensiuni, etc. Un accent deosebit se pune pe pregătirea materialelor în funcție de solicitările specifice ale fiecărui partener în parte. noastre de colectare și procesare. Ele se împart în mai multe categorii. Pe lângă fierul vechi provenit de la agenții economici, rezultat în urma procesului de producție (ștanțatură, tablă nouă, capete de țeavă, bare laminate, șpan, etc.) și cel rezultat din demolări industriale, o importanță crescândă o au materialele feroase reciclabile provenite din bunurile de consum. Toate aceste materiale se procesează în bazele proprii conform normelor tehnice și de protecție a mediului, urmând ca materia primă secundară să fie livrată către partenerii noștri. Colectarea deșeurilor feroase se face printr-o vastă rețea proprie, susținută de logistica necesară (camioane dotate cu containere și greifer, remorci, camionete etc). După procesare, materia primă secundară este încărcată în vagoane, camioane, containere închise, barje fluviale, respectiv nave maritime și este livrată către oțelării, atât la cele din țară cât și din străinătate.
